NEXIUM should be taken as directed by your doctor, at least one hour before a meal and at the same time every day. The capsules should be swallowed whole, never chewed or crushed. If you have a hard time swallowing capsules, you can open a capsule and empty the pellets into a tablespoon of applesauce and take right away. The applesauce used should not be hot and should be soft enough to be swallowed without chewing. Never store for later use. Never chew or crush pellets.
Do not use NEXIUM to treat any other medical conditions unless instructed by your doctor. Never share NEXIUM with anyone elseit has been prescribed for you!
If you miss a dose, continue taking NEXIUM as directed and consult your doctor.
Side effects with NEXIUM include headache, diarrhea and abdominal pain.
